Secondly because this allows perfect personalisation of your learning. You can follow your own path and make your own associations. You do not have to follow a pre-defined curriculum but can construct your knowledge in a way that is most meaningful - and therefore useful - to you.

Thirdly, because it is more interactive. Rather than a one-way street of learning where you teach tells you what you need to know (and when) in a one-size-fits-all, you can interact with AI to ask questions, send prompts, read the responses and follow them up.

Fourthly, because it is flexible. You can work with AI at any time, in any language, in any cultural context and the AI wil never be tired.

Why is studying with generative AI difficult?

This comes at a price though. You will have to self-direct and self-regulate your won learning. No teacher will tell you what to do and when to do it. You will need to decide how deep and wide you want to explore. This not only means that you have to ensure that you go deep enough but also that you know when enough is enough. But you must also scaffold your own learning, make sure you start with easy and straightforward concepts before you dive into the difficult and complex stuff - you have to learn how to walk before you run.

Most importantly though, you must be able to determine which information needs double-checking. That is not unique to AI though, there are many sources of information that contain too one-sided, shallow or downright incorrect information
