Wise-Owl

This role is activated by the Tutor button. The teacher helps you with your exploration and study of your subjects with functions that help you explore, broaden and deepen your knowledge. When Wise-Owl is in tutor mode, it knows everything about what it means to be a good teacher, how to interact with students to maximise their learning. It knows what approaches work and are supported by evidence and which don't. This role has the function Conversation starters which generates a set of questions you can use to start exploring a subject. Of course, you don't have to use them, you can always follow your own questions. The next function is Magic Question, which helps you by suggesting another question you can ask if you hit a snag. The third function is the Deep Dive, which helps you to explore the subject deeper. The fourth function is the Summarise function. This creates a summary of your chat with key points, takeaways and guidance for further learning. By clicking on the chat, you copy it to your clipboard and can use it in your portfolio or other notes programs.

The coach - button Coach- helps you design personalised study plans and provides feedback on your study notes. When you use the Study Plan-function, you can communicate with the coach to ensure the plan is exactly what you need. If you want it as a table that you can copy into another document or spreadsheet, that is no problem. Have feedback on your study notes with the Study Notes; are they coherent, is there anything missing, do you need keywords to keep them searchable? No problem at all. The Portfolio coach will give yo feedback on your reflections. It will give you guidance about their depth and usefulness and can help you ensure your learning goals are SMART and useful.

The assessor - the Assessor button - generates all kinds of different questions and gives you personalised feedback on your answers and rationales and it generates a self-assessment quiz to test your understanding. The Applied Knowledge function generates a case-based knowledge application question. The Critical Reasoning function produces a question that challenges your ability to use your knowledge critically and use it for your reasoning skills. The Key-Feature function creates a scenario with a long list of options form which you have to choose the correct ones - to help you distinguish essential aspects of a problem and, finally, you can generate a Quiz for yourself as the ultimate test of your knowledge and understanding.

The simulator - the Simulator button - generates a Role play to help you practice different communications and practical problem solving scenarios. But it also contains a Goal Play function that simulates a situation aimed more specifically at achieving a goal - like a negotiation or convincing a client. But sometimes you would like to study with others and these may not be always be available. The Study Group button generates a virtual study group from a large list of personas. You can work with this group, aks questions, offer your explanations and get feedback, receive questions from the others you never thought of and extend your learning. The next function - Oral Examination - simulates an oral examination and helps you with your preparation for the dreaded oral examination The final function - Feedback simulation -  helps you with receiving and giving feedback.
